The CAN focuses on inclusivity and accessibility. Our goal is to always listen to our community, be generous, make things affordable, and try to make things free when it makes sense.
Dave, Meredith & Jennifer
The CAN was conceived one morning via Zoom by two old friends who are veterans in the entertainment industry who had just lost their jobs. Coffee in hand, Dave and Meredith discussed what was missing from the business of entertainment: People. There is no community that serves as the lobby for all those creative brains out there. They wanted to build that lobby, and soon, but...
This duo realized immediately that they were missing the third leg to complete the formula for the perfect tripod. They needed an expert in sales and customer happiness. Kismet led them on a virtual trip to Austin to see Meredith's friend of 25 years, Jennifer, who has sold everything from diapers and fashion accessories to software and rigging harnesses. One Zoom meeting later The CAN was no longer an idea, it was tangible.
Almost every element of what we do and how we do it has changed. There are important organizations out there who deal with the business of arts and entertainment and we want to serve you, the individuals who make this world a better place. We decided to not stop there. We need creatives of all genres to empower the community and navigate this uncertain world together. The CAN is the conduit for this to happen. Whether you are the artist with the vision, the hands that make it happen, or someone who wants to help and inspire others, you belong here.
We crave to create and support each other. We miss that, don't you? We think it is time to unite to see how, together, we CAN reinvent and escalate what we do.
Let’s figure this out together.
